Process Paper
My topic for the National History Fair Project is
the rights and responsibilities of Ancient Roman citizens. I chose my topic from
the NHD topic samples list. The reason I chose this topic is that I found the
rights and responsibilities of Romans to be very interesting. I was intrigued to
know how the aspects of citizenship in Ancient Rome changed over time and how
they relate to some rights and responsibilities today. The Romans also had a
religious and oftentimes strict society and laws. The Romans were also one of
the most successful and powerful civilizations in the world.
I conducted my research by entering my topic in the search engine Google
and choosing from the given results. The websites that I researched were filled
with information on the subject of Roman citizenship. This information included
rights and responsibilities of Roman citizens, how to gain or lose citizenship,
and the social classes of citizens and how they affected their rights. The
information acquired from my research was used in the website entry for the
history fair.
I selected my presentation as a website because it is the most simple and
effective method of conveying information. It can store written information,
images, and various forms of multimedia in the same site. Weebly makes building
a website fast and easy. It has user-friendly tools to help formulate a website.
To make my website, I took the information from my research and divided it into
categories. Those categories became the pages in the
website.
My project relates to the annual theme, rights and responsibilities, by
the listings of the rights and responsibilities of Roman citizens and how these
were affected by the social classes. It also explains how to gain or lose
citizenship in ancient Rome.
